Perception Based off Personal Interactions: Why Is Gen Z More “normal” Than Millennials?

We’re gonna discuss why Gen Z is more ”normal” than Millennials.

Why Is Gen Z More “normal” Than Millennials?

What some perceive as “normalcy” often stems from how each generation interacted with technology, culture, and social expectations during their formative years

Technological Upbringing

Technological upbringing is one of the determining factors that separates Gen Z from millennials and actually have them viewed at as more normal.

Just because We millennials had to be pioneers for what technology was going to be for the next unforeseeable decades up to what today is.

So everything that is running the world now is what was introduced to many millennials growing up.

That includes what the internet was going to really do for people on a social level.

How our phones would be a bigger part of our lives than just making calls on it?

And doing more than just having a single device for a camera, for example.

It’s just gotten to where a lot of what works today had to be tested on millennials growing up.

So a lot of that had to come with a lot of trial and error.

And people would stand out sometimes in positive ways and others less than positive.

But, with that, There’s also Gen Z’s that was being born and at least getting of age to be able to use a lot of these devices and forms of technology shows that they’ve ended up becoming natives to it.

So because they were born into it, they’re not sure of anything else or know what life was like before then.

And That’s where they also become more normal— at least how they’re viewed.

Just because their standard is what life always was.

And there wasn’t a point in time when they didn’t have to go without certain technology that is considered standard in today’s time.

Cultural and Social Shifts

Another reason that you can say that Gen Z’s are considered more normal than millennials is because of the cultural and societal shifts that happen.

There’s 2 specific points of it that are grossly misrepresented in most explanations of it, but the 1st is the stacking of subcultures.

Some places you might hear it called is the “homogenization” of it, but just to understand what it is puts in a better perspective.

And that would be just how Gen Z holds some of the most biracial children and representation of them in the household than ever.

And with that, becomes where it’s an outnumbering thing where if there’s enough of a certain demographic, they no longer become the minority.

And that’s where the new norm is.

The other defining factor, you could say, that separates millennials from Gen Z as far as being normal, is how there is a shift in Appreciation.

So the passion that was running the world, as they saw millennials being the future for being, has shifted to the Gen Zs of today.

They are the new youth, so to speak. And as in the new youth, they’re the new adolescents.

A lot of the children of today run a lot of what even the young adults and older adults of today do.

And a lot of that determines how they run the Generations above them is what they are passionate for.

When you find what gets everybody going globally, that becomes a powerful piece of information to have.

But, Because what they care about more seems to impact the globe, That is another way to Identify them as being the new normal of today.

Economic and Pragmatic Realities

In the last example of where Gen Z’s would be considered normal in comparison to millennials, deals with the economic and pragmatic realities that they both face.

Ultimately, it’s adulthood, from a financial perspective, and what comes with being an adult as you climb up the ranks in adulthood.

These address the different pressures that they they would face and It would range from anything with homeownership, to handling bills, or deciding on continuing to further their education.

Maybe it’s different expectations that maybe parents and loved ones might have placed on them through their youth— so on and so forth.

The reality is that it seems to shift depending on which of the 2 generations we’re speaking about.

It becomes more applicable to the amount of flexibility and catering is being done to each generation.

Many would agree that a lot of the catering and adjustments that are being made on a global scale is happening for Gen Z in comparison to millennials, just in a sense where you get a bunch of forms of entertainment that seems to really push a representation that can be identified with many Gen Zers.

That includes their approach to marketing or any type of project campaign that they look to run.

And What that ultimately does too is reshape what’s realistic in the world.

So an example for Millennials would be is if they were raised up on the philosophy of: shoot for the moon.

And since Gen Z came along, it could have shifted to now: aim for Mars.

And so on and so forth.

It can change as you get to different generations, but When you look at what is considered normal now is getting pushed one way or the other, whether it’s things are getting tougher or they’re getting easier.

But the goalpost definitely changes once you reach a different generation to the next.
