Today we’re going to discuss how to set proper goals. Not only that but also the way to stay dedicated to them.
How to Set Proper Goals and Stay Dedicated to Them
clear planning, an actionable system, and environmental design that reduces daily friction
Why is it important to have a clear plan?
The first reason why you’re gonna want a clear plan is because it provides clarity. Having a clear plan with your project kills all hesitation on what needs to be completed to complete the overall mission. A clear goal becomes easier to pursue when you understand how to write a project plan around it. Let’s say you have a goal but you find yourself asking every day “what do I have to do?”. You likely don’t have a clear enough plan. Doing this will allow you to operate in a flow state, and that’s valuable when you do your best work with momentum being on your side.
What is an actionable solution?
An actionable solution is a practical step that you can take to get immediate results. Actionable solutions are synonymous with systems because figuring out a process that gets reliable results eventually turns into a system. You’re able to do the same thing over and have reasonable expectations every time. And it shifts into system territory once you’re able to prove to yourself that you could easily teach the action to someone else so they see the same thing too.
Environmental Design
The environment in which you operate in becomes a factor in your ability to set goals that you can actually stick to because it’s the place you’re going to put the work in. I’m not one that says things have to be absolutely perfect before you execute because it’s not realistic. However, your environment (does to some effect) affects your ability to work because it maintains your comfortable space. You’re gonna be aware of all your available tools and such in order to get results with your project.
