10 Steps To Finding Your True Life Purpose

Today we’re gonna discuss 10 steps you can take to find your true life purpose.

1. Cultivating a Problem-Solving Mentality

Problem solving mentality tend to make for much better self understood people. They‘re typically seen as understanding what their life purpose is because they do what other entrepreneurs are naturals at. Having this attitude will always keep a job that rewards ambition in your option cabinet.

You have to be able to analyze and dissect situations to be able to have this trait. There’s details that you have to pick up on and have an inquisitive mind in order to cultivate this skill.

Look at talk show hosts for example. Maury, Jennifer Hudson, Gary Vaynerchuk, Oprah, Dr. Phil. The list goes on. What they have in common is that they solve people’s problems. They consistently show up and change lives with every book they drop, every show they put on. They’re not all in the same field but their impact is evident.

Some practical exercises you can employ to cultivate this skill is start finding things that’s wrong in the world and respond with solutions. You don’t even need to take physical action on these problems. But once you start becoming a solution expert, it becomes a habit eventually, and that’s something you can take with you moving forward.

2. Embracing a Spiritual Awakening

Embracing your spiritual awakening is something that you have to go through eventually. You might as well do it as soon as possible. A spiritual awakening is synonymous with discovering your morals and principles. You have to find the things that get you to move and see the world as your personal responsibility. It’s significant because it solidifies your place in the world. You’re not just another person getting in the way when this is discovered.

You can facilitate a personal spiritual journey through joining communities and things alike that challenge you to exercise the act of being faithful. There’s a loyalty that develops too because you’re not so malleable the deeper you get into this journey. You can also seek religious leaders too. They can see where you’re at with trying to obtain more knowledge. It’s just another option among many others, but considering them can be life changing.

Your spiritual awakening connects to your life purpose by pro creating in a way. As you become an honorable and respected member of a group or personal calling, more people will look to learn from you. You’re gonna have the appearance and eventual genuine knowledge on how life should truly be lived.

You can find many people that went through their own spiritual awakening just about anywhere. Me personally, I feel I went through mine pretty early in life. That’s not to say mine is complete either, it’s just enlightening and if anything added clarity in my life to a point where I’ve avoided situations that could’ve happened and made my life a complete disaster with no return. All of that has to be credited to prioritizing getting my spirit right. It’s because of that I feel I’m well prepared for most situations that I come across.

3. Thinking Bigger: Expanding Your Horizons

Thinking bigger is another way to find your true calling. What this does is expand your horizons in a way that you get a chance to find your place in the world. It matters in finding your purpose because it teaches you how to have more of an existential view of where you’re really at. You challenge yourself to release yourself from your traditional way of thinking and see how to truly obtain be things you want in life.

Some ways to do such is by eliminating a specific excuse. I’m talking about age limitations. There’s things that you’re limited to doing because of your age. That’s a fact. But there’s also many things that we as a society does to hold our youth back from getting to where we really want sooner. It manifests in the way we get held up from making decisions that could be life changing. That could be for better or worse. It’s not just age beliefs though. Another strategy could be through embracing new experiences. It’s not natural to want change, or at least doing the things necessary for it to really happen. If it’s something you haven’t done before, that could be scary and uncomfortable. So what we tend to do is run away from that feeling when it could be something we could really benefit from.

Think of some of the most iconic Billionaires of our lifetime that shared some of their secrets for what they had to do to keep climbing the ladder of success. Jay-Z, Kanye West, Taylor Swift, Beyoncé, Rihanna, and so on. They all incredibly valuable interview and books that give amazing insight into these changes they had to go through in order to push past their own limits. If we take the time to observe and study these moments, it could be highly informative.

Some activities that you could do to help kick start that bigger picture thinking is anything that helps you feel better. It could be working out, making music, playing sports or anything that puts you in your zone. Once you figure that out and make more time for it, you’re going to inherit that ability naturally.

4. Confronting and Overcoming Personal Fears

Confronting and prioritizing personal fears helps you find your life purpose too. There’s so many fears that stops us from reaching new heights. It’s a real conundrum. It could be having to spend time alone. Maybe it’s being criticized. There’s a few that range depending on the type of person in question. If you’re focused on conquering this challenge, what I find works best up to this point is confronting them head on. You have to get to the point where you can face them and establish your right to exist with them. You might have to take smaller steps to get to that point where you can face your biggest ones. It might help to reflect on people in your life that got over a fear. You might take some things that they did and apply it to whatever your personal one is.

I have a few docufilms made by Flowrestling that showcases some of the stories of American wrestlers that could be checked out to get an idea of some of the fears that people went through to reach new levels of success.

What fear-facing does is build resilience. It’s a critical quality to have if you plan on reaching anything worth obtaining.

5. The Power of Mentorship in Discovering Your Path

Mentorship is yet another way to discover your true purpose in life. It can become an enhancement in a way. You have someone that can guide you towards a path that you’re trying to navigate through. A mentor can help refine talents you already have, and help you unlock new levels to your personal image that you might’ve not seen being possible. When you start to slow down, they help you reach speeds that get you back on track. Sometimes they’ll help you exceed expectations.

You can find these mentors in the trenches of your industry. Sometimes they’re right beside you. And most only notice the ones at the top. When you find the one that moves in a way you like, you have to approach them correctly. I won’t give you a special method in how to do that. What I will say though is that you have to sculpt a basic success principle to increase your chances of having them be available for you. That quality is understanding what it takes to be a likable person. If you’re not sure how to do that exactly, you’re gonna be fine with employing the Golden Rule for starters. From there you build into tailoring tactics that are specific to the person you’re looking to team up with.

Some success stories that I’d recommend for you that are specifically focused on mentorship come from Flowrestling again. There’s a specific one that immediately comes to mind about a great American wrestler named J’Den Cox. I got to watch this guy compete to make the 2016 Olympic Team in which he would go on to win a Bronze Medal. You can check out his story of mentorship by clicking here.

If you want a way to leverage your mentorship to work in your favor, it works best to have your schedule be built around the person you’re looking for guidance from. You have to show this person that you are 100% all in with their methods and you’re willing to go the distance with whatever it is they plan to put you through on your journey. They typically will communicate what their plan is for you, and it’ll be on you to put in any extra work necessary. You usually won’t have to do much extra, but there definitely will be cases in where you might want to change directions eventually, but realize that you are still getting benefit from your current mentor.

6. Focusing on Personal Development for Clarity

Next is focusing on personal development. This is sometimes all you need to put your focus on to discover what it is that’s your true life purpose.

It’s important to adopt this interest because growing doesn’t stop. You’re either growing or shrinking. It doesn’t have to be your only focus, but it is one of the strongest enhancers for whatever your passion is. It’s universally applicable in most cases.

Your tools and resources to make this part of your life sustainable is with your books, success events, and anything else that becomes an enlightening experience that you can continue to revisit. In many cases your mentor can refer you to specific materials that will help your particular case.

When you get involved with personal development and decide to make it a part of your life, you’re gonna find that you end up creating goals that are synonymous. That’s when you’re gonna find that you are gonna want to take action. It’s a real art in doing so. If you’re not sure with where to start, you can try one of the basics in creating SMART Goals. It’s a formulaic way of taking steps needed to start and reach the end of the goals you set.

There are so many iconic people that are well known for helping others with their personal growth journeys. Tony Robbins, Joel Osteen, The Honorable Minister Farrakhan, and many more! There’s people that have made highly respected names off convocation. They truly pay it forward with helping their fellow man reach true enlightenment through understanding the meaning of life.

7. The Role of Volunteering in Understanding Life Purpose

Volunteering is another method that’s worth consideration when trying to discover what it takes to find your life purpose. I can speak from personal experience in having my own moments of volunteering and what it did for me personally. It might not had a direct impact on me from a surface level perspective, but I could see the people I was able to affect personally. And what I can say is that I felt part of something bigger than myself from being involved with these projects. Everybody that was on my team felt like mentors in a way. Granted I was assisting a much older team than what me or anyone else would probably be used to, but it felt satisfying in a humble way to help with these campaigns. It was as if I was getting clarity in knowing that out of all the other things I could be doing during my hours spent assisting, I was doing the absolute best thing for me personally.

Again, there’s success stories that can be found just about anywhere in the world if you need someone specifically that became inspirational from volunteering. Hopefully if you review this again and come to appreciate what I built here, you can possibly see me as such. It’s a vetting process that you’re gonna have to go through because there’s only so much time in the day and energy you have to make yourself available for others. That process in itself is actually a method to get you closer to your life calling because you’re creating standards for what you’re willing to do, and you’re likely to pick things that are closer to your own interests. From that you’re going to find yourself in a way.

8. Collaboration: Finding Strength in Numbers

Finding ways to collaborate with others is another way to find your own life purpose. The other methods might seem similar in nature, but this one is a little different, at least from the lens that I’m presenting it in. I mention collaboration as clearly seeing the other person you’re working with as an equal.

This is an important method to consider because it develops your people skills. That’s on a personal and professional level. You absolutely need to have this quality if you don’t wanna end up lonely without anyone to share your successes with.

You can find opportunities to engage in collaboration opportunities all over. There’s constantly people looking to team up. If you believe what you’re working towards is in the same exact line of agenda with whoever wants to collaborate, why not? You’re going to have someone that can keep you accountable and you’re not taking a full workload on yourself. That’s important if you want to go the distance and not be burnt out or overwhelmed with the constant demands that you inevitably will reach. You can find these opportunities specifically in community groups, networking events, and things alike.

Watch The Throne. Her Loss. MCU. Those are just roughly loose yet successful collaborations that prove working together can lead to an even better result for the individuals that decided to team up at the time.

If you’re someone that really wants to get the full benefit out of a partnership, you should always think in terms of what’s in it for them. Try your best to really see what the other person gets out of working with you, and if you cross that with the Golden Rule again, you can almost guarantee that every collaboration you’re seeking out will work out.

9. Discovering Joy and Laughter

Discovering joy and laughter is another method that connects you with your life purpose because it’s aligned with what the earthly dream is. That’s living a life filled with both of those things.

People that really discovered their true calling in life can say that they do both all the time. It’s part of their work, personal life, and their friend’s lives as well.

Laughter is proven to extend your life and is constantly said to be the best form of medicine. It’s kind of tough not to know what your purpose in life is if you’re tuned in with what really makes you happy in life.

Most people work to live, but what if you lived to work? That’s probably not overly profound, but apply this lesson to that common saying. If you prioritize your happiness in this way and just add professional elements to this philosophy, being happy is your business this way.

Finding humor and laughter helps you discover yourself because you find things that resonates with you internally. You’re constantly finding the things that make life worth living for yourself. That’s a benefit that’s not to be taken lightly. There’s not many people that can boast an optimistic personality that’s always switched on.

You can amplify the joy you currently experience in finding others that enjoy the same exact things you do. That’s not to say you need to have people that are 100% like you in every way, it just adds to what you already have. Remember: 2 heads are better than one. It’s just like what Jay-Z said in Family Feud. Listen to the song and you’re surely gonna get what I mean.

Cultivate An Enjoyment For Simplifying Concepts

My last suggestion is probably one of the most personal ones, but it is still of high value nonetheless. When you seek fostering an enjoyment for simplifying concepts that might otherwise be complicated to learn for others, it helps you get to what your life calling will be.

You’re going through the motion of breaking things down that you may or may not care for, but you still realize that it’s helpful and adds value in other people’s lives. Everybody loves someone who can genuinely teach them something helpful.

What I believe it does is settle your ego down in a way too because it keeps you active in exercising your patience for the students you have. That’s why you need to disregard whether you’re genuinely interested because you’re doing this for other people. Keep your interest in the people looking to learn, not necessarily what they’re interested in.

This can keep you fresh in a way because you’re learning things that are new to you, but you’re helping others get caught up to speed. It’s a system management opportunity if you get creative with your thinking here.

You remove from most of what’s happening with the teaching process. Just the act of connecting and embracing the people you’re guiding will inevitably bring you closer to what you really care about. These people will form relationships with you and wanna get to know more about you. You stick the course here, and you will get that much closer to discovering your own life purpose.
